Certified Quality Mussel Programme
The Certified Quality Mussel Programme was launched in 2002 and was the first fully integrated shellfish Programme in the world to be accredited to EN45011/ISO65, the international standard for product quality certification. Participation in the Mussel Quality Assurance Programme is voluntary.

There are currently  Standards for

• Product Quality
• Organic
• Eco-Label
• BRC
• Traceability (ISO22005)

Standards also exist for Bottom Cultured Mussels and Rope Cultured Mussels. The Programme is independently certified by IFQC Ltd.

Programme Aim
The Programme enables participating members to transparently demonstrate to fish buyers and consumers that their products are produced using best practice techniques and are positively released using quality and safety specifications.

Participation in the Mussel Quality Programme is voluntary.
